About The Position
Southeast Public Transit (formerly Yankton Transit) is seeking dedicated and responsible Bus Drivers to join our team. This position requires availability from Monday to Friday, with working hours between 5 AM and 7 PM. The role is part-time, averaging approximately 20-25 hours per week, and offers a starting pay of $17 per hour. As a Bus Driver, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of passengers, which includes maintaining a high standard of customer service and adhering to safe driving techniques. In this role, you will conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of buses and vans to ensure they are in safe operating condition. You will assist passengers with their transportation needs, which may involve bending, lifting, and bracing. Southeast Public Transit provides in-house training to help you obtain a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Passenger Endorsement, as well as training on safety procedures for operating the vehicle. The position may require you to work in either Yankton or Vermillion, depending on operational needs.
