About The Position

We are currently recruiting to fill the following position: Workforce Inclusion Vehicle Operator Specialist- Bus Driver. Under general supervision, the Vehicle Operator Specialist- Bus Driver, Workforce Inclusion safely and effectively operates passenger vehicles to transport and assist people with disabilities to and from destinations. Employees in this job class operate multi-passenger vehicles, perform vehicle inspections, and maintain accurate and legible records and logs. This job class requires the ability to safely operate a passenger vehicle, navigate to various locations, and maintain related records.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Meet driving qualifications as defined by PRIDE Industries.
  • Ability to operate passenger vehicle in accordance with a schedule.
  • Ability to communicate effectively including listening, verbal, and written.
  • Demonstrate ability to apply critical thinking to identify solutions to problems.
  • Demonstrate basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and exercise flexibility.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Valid CDL with PAX endorsement.

Responsibilities

  • Operate multi-passenger vehicle to safely transport individuals with disabilities to job sites and other destinations.
  • Assist passengers with entering and exiting the vehicle including securing wheelchair(s).
  • Perform vehicle inspections and report any mechanical problems prior to departure.
  • Communicate with dispatch personnel.
  • Maintain accurate and legible records and logs as required.
  • Perform duties and special projects as assigned.
