About The Position
The Fort Zumwalt School District is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as School Bus Drivers. This full-time position is crucial for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of students to and from school and related activities. As a School Bus Driver, you will be responsible for not only driving the bus but also for maintaining a safe environment for students during transit. This includes managing student behavior, conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and ensuring that the bus is in proper operating condition at all times. You will be expected to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff, and to adhere to all safety regulations and district policies. The role requires a valid CDL and School Bus Operator's Permit, as well as the ability to lift and assist students as needed, particularly those with special needs. This position offers a starting pay range of $19.25 to $28.00 per hour, along with a $1,000 first-year bonus for new drivers. Employment is on an at-will basis for nine months, aligning with the school calendar, and includes opportunities for professional development through monthly safety meetings and workshops.
