About The Position

Spring Education Group's Early Childhood Education Division includes nearly 150 schools offering services from infant care through Pre-K/K programs, as well as summer camp and after-school programs. Our locations span a nationwide geographic footprint and a diverse array of pedagogical approaches — including our proprietary Links to Learning curriculum that draws from the collective expertise of renowned early-age educators such as Dewey, Piaget and Vygotsky; Montessori schools that embrace both accredited Montessori methods - AMI (Association Montessori Internationale) and AMS (American Montessori Society); and progressive language immersion programs in Mandarin and Spanish. Summary: As a Part-Time Bus Driver at Chesterbrook Academy, you will provide safe transportation by driving a school bus or passenger van to and from our school facility while adhering to driving regulations and providing a safe vehicle. Participate collaboratively and professionally with other teachers and staff to promote the general well-being of the school, and the collective/individual interest of its staff and student body.

Requirements

  • Must be 25 years of age or older.
  • Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED AND at least two years of experience with children.
  • Complies with all company and state-specific standards and maintains validation of required credentials for the position including a Commercial Driver's License with valid passenger and school bus endorsements.
  • Ability to successfully pass state and federal background checks.
  • Maintain a driving record acceptable to Spring Education Group.
  • Must be able to carry or lift 25 pounds or less (25-50%) often and 25-50 pounds (10-25%) occasionally.

Responsibilities

  • Culture: Positively influence your peers to work toward and meet the school's vision of excellence. Provides and maintains quality education programs. Ensures successful implementation of approved curriculum.
  • Health & Safety: Provides a safe vehicle by observing visual defects; checking operating systems including brakes, horn, windshield wipers, lights, extended stop arms, emergency flasher, and door-opening devices using a monthly bus safety checklist.
  • Inspire & Engage: Our Bus Drivers are enthusiastic about communicating respectfully with children directly, in child-friendly tones, and on their level while teaching them vehicle safety procedures.
  • Relationship Building: Have a strong desire to work collaboratively with a talented team of diverse educators and administrators. Develop and maintain interpersonal relationships with the families, students, and school community.
