About The Position

The position involves operating school buses in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring the safety of students during transportation. The bus driver will be responsible for monitoring student behavior, communicating with parents and school staff, and conducting inspections of the bus to maintain safety standards.

Requirements

• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a passenger endorsement or the ability to obtain one.
• Previous experience driving a bus or working with children preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for transporting students.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening as required by law.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late afternoons.

Nice To Haves

• CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate school buses in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic regulations and safety protocols.
• Ensure the safe boarding and disembarking of students, assisting them as necessary.
• Monitor student behavior on the bus and enforce safety rules to maintain a respectful and orderly environment.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff to address any concerns or issues.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain accurate records of bus routes, student attendance, and incidents.
• Attend training sessions and meetings as required to stay updated on safety protocols and regulations.
