About The Position

The position is for full-time and substitute bus drivers with the St. Tammany Parish Public Schools (STPPS). Full-time bus drivers will earn a starting salary of $28,076, which includes a $700 salary incentive, for nine months of employment. They are also eligible for full benefits and retirement. Substitute drivers will earn $160 per day, which is the highest pay rate in the state for substitute drivers. The job offers training and a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) at no cost, along with summers and holidays off, working only nine months of the year with school holidays off.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years old
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Background check and Pre-screening
• State Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
• LA Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with Airbrake, Passenger and School Bus endorsements
• CDL Physical Examination
• You do not have to have your CDL License to start the certification process, but will need to obtain it before completion of the certification process.
