About The Position

The Bus Driver is responsible for safely operating the College's bus per set schedule. This includes operating the bus in a safe and effective manner to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life, and ensuring that all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures are followed. The Bus Driver will also perform safety and maintenance checks, clean the bus as scheduled, and ensure it is safely stored. Interaction with passengers and maintaining order on the bus is essential, as is maintaining professional conduct with students, staff, and the college community.

Requirements

• High school diploma or its equivalent, required.
• A valid CDL with passenger or bus endorsement, required.
• Clean driving record, required.
• Ability to be insurable, required.
• Must be able to pass a drug screening, required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in maintaining bus units, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate the College bus in a safe and effective manner to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.
• Pick up and deliver employees, students, and guests as per a schedule.
• Operate the bus in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
• Perform safety and maintenance checks.
• Clean the bus as scheduled and/or required.
• Ensure the bus is safely and securely stored.
• Advise appropriate personnel of any requirements for maintenance or repairs.
• Maintain trip logs, gas receipts and any service receipts.
• Maintain pre and post trip logs.
• Collect directions and know trip routes well.
• Stay alert in bad traffic and/or weather conditions.
• Interact with passengers and maintain order on the bus.
• Maintain professional conduct in dealing with students, staff, administration, faculty, and the college community.
• Assist in enforcing all college policies.

Benefits

• Salary: $180 per day.
