About The Position

North Platte Public School District is seeking reliable and safety-focused Passenger Transportation Specialist to join our transportation team. These positions play a vital role in ensuring safe, timely transportation for our students. 12-month position (drivers will work in other assigned roles when not driving routes; weekends and nights will be required) Qualifications: Valid Nebraska driver’s license (CDL preferred or willingness to obtain) Clean driving record Ability to pass a background check and drug screening Dependable, punctual, and student-centered Training provided for qualified applicants Lift up to 75 pounds Previous driving experience is preferred Flexible Schedule: FULL-TIME Combination of Monday thru Saturday based on activity needs, early mornings through afternoons/drivers will work on assigned duties. Evenings and weekends as needed for activities What You’ll Do: Bus Driver Duties: $16.10 - 21.80 Safely transport students, staff and faculty to and from field trips, athletic events and daily routes Ensure student safety and maintain order on the bus Keep buses clean and sanitized especially during winter months. Communicate effectively over two-way radios Perform regular inspections and basic maintenance checks. Other Assigned Duties: $17 Assist with preventative maintenance on buses and school equipment. Inspect equipment monthly. Operate and maintain power tools and motorized equipment. Support general maintenance and repairs as assigned. Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Must pass a state-required physical examination. Must complete a 2-hour driving demonstration with a CDL, bus-endorsed employee. Ability to safely operate power tools and motorized equipment. Neat appearance and strong communication skills.
