About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to operate a school bus and related equipment to provide safe and orderly transportation of students and other authorized persons on assigned routes and to and from other designated locations. The driver will also provide substitute coverage on routes, shuttles, or field trips as assigned by the Dispatcher and Route Services Manager for either short notice short duration needs or longer duration assignments for drivers on extended leave.

Requirements

• Clear and valid Texas commercial driver's license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
• Valid Texas School Bus Certification.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Ability to pass U.S. Department of Transportation alcohol and drug tests and annual physical exam.
• Ability to complete required bus driver safety training.
• Ability to use maps and GPS to follow routes.
• Exemplary communication and time management skills.
• Extensive knowledge of road network within district boundaries.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of Reg. Ed or Specialty Route Driving Experience preferred.
