About The Position

The YMCA of Northwest North Carolina is looking for a dependable bus driver for our Before and Afterschool Program. The ideal candidate will have open availability and be flexible with their schedule. Traditional Hours are 7:00am-9:00am OR Afterschool: 2:00-6:00 pm Monday-Friday. Some Nights and Weekends may be required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current CDL (required).
• Pass a CDL Road test (required).
• Pass a NC criminal record check/background check.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Enjoys working with people and prioritizes safety.
• Current certification in CPR/First Aid/AED/Oxygen administration or obtain certification within 60 days of hire.
• Ability to be flexible with scheduling.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with children.
• Previous bus driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive children to and from school and other activities as required.
• Ensure the safety of all passengers while on the bus.
• Maintain a clean and organized bus.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff.
• Assist with loading and unloading children and supplies.
• Be available for Out of School Days when school is closed.
