About The Position

Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting for a full-time Bus Driver/Automotive Mechanic Helper with full benefits. This position involves the operation of an automotive vehicle used to transport students and/or passengers and automotive repair and maintenance work at the beginning level as a helper. Typical work may include but is not limited to the following: Operates a school bus on a regular schedule and/or on special occasions; Check the operating condition of the bus before starting the trip; Checks tires and repairs flats; Changes oil and lubricates automotive vehicles; Assists mechanics in repairing and overhauling brake systems, differentials, transmissions and front and rear axles; Related work as required.

Requirements

• Eligibility for the appropriate level New York State Driver's License at the time of application
• Possession of license at the time of appointment
• One year of experience in the repair and maintenance of automotive vehicles, OR any equivalent combination of training and experience
• Must be at least 21 years of age for School Districts
• Must satisfy the requirements for a School Bus Driver set forth in the Rules and Regulations of the New York State Commissioner of Education.
