The position involves operating a bus safely to provide transportation for the public and employees, primarily between parking lots and the terminal. The role requires the driver to navigate highly congested areas while ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers. The driver will also be responsible for maintaining the bus in safe operating condition throughout the shift, which includes cleaning, checking safety features, and refueling the bus. Additionally, the driver will engage in traffic direction, snow removal procedures, and provide transportation services for special events as directed by the supervisor. The position demands a high level of responsibility, as the driver must observe and report any unusual security situations or hazardous conditions to the appropriate authorities.

  • Operate bus in a safe, efficient manner in highly congested areas
  • Provide direction and assistance to the public
  • Handle complaints in a responsible, respectful manner
  • Maintain bus in safe operating condition throughout the shift, i.e., periodically clean windows, adjust mirrors, check lights, etc.
  • Check safety features of the bus
  • Refuel bus and wash windows at the end of shift
  • Wash and clean buses

  • Engage in snow removal procedures as directed by the supervisor
  • Conduct off-premises bus runs and provide transportation services for special events as directed by the supervisor
  • Observe and report all unusual security situations to the Police Department
  • Observe and report security violations, unusual situations, hazardous conditions and traffic congestion problems
  • Complete all individually assigned duties in accordance with stated department and IAA policies, goals, rules and regulations
  • Perform all of the essential functions of the job outlined above without creating a direct threat to the safety of oneself, subordinates, or other person(s) in and around the airport.
  • Must possess class B CDL with a passenger and air brake endorsement
  • Age 21 or over with a valid commercial driver's license and a good driving record
  • Effectively communicate and comprehend English, both orally and in writing.
