About The Position

The Business Development Manager - Industrial at Xylem is responsible for developing growth strategies and go-to-market plans to enhance the company's market position and drive customer experiences in the Goulds Water Technology segment. This role requires a combination of market intelligence, data-driven insights, and a deep understanding of customer needs to identify trends and opportunities for profitable revenue growth.

Requirements

  • BA or BS in Marketing, Business, Product Management/Marketing, or Strategic Account Management.
  • A minimum of 10 years' marketing or business development experience in relevant industries such as water technology, power generation, or mining.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of market penetration strategies and go-to-market strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic and tactical efforts for commercial results.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA strongly desired
  • Strong analytical skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and finance principles.
  • Significant experience in market analysis or go-to-market strategy development.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a market segment expert, understanding the market landscape and key players.
  • Drive customer intimacy and brand equity by defining customer needs and preferences.
  • Collaborate with various teams to design and execute strategies for customer acquisition and retention.
  • Identify and build cases for strategic growth, including new product development and business models.
  • Source and interpret complex data sets into insights for business growth opportunities.
  • Produce a multi-year 'Market Map' to identify under-served customer markets and industry trends.
  • Gather and analyze business and competitor information to support strategic planning.
  • Lead Voice of Customer studies for strategic growth and product development.
  • Promote new and existing programs to drive profitable sales growth.
  • Work with marketing to develop lead generation and brand building campaigns.
  • Partner with sales to identify strategic accounts and provide necessary support.
  • Assess new market opportunities and develop go-to-market strategies.
  • Build industry alliances and participate in trade organizations.
  • Identify potential business partners and M&A opportunities.
  • Develop content for training events and demonstrate thought leadership.
