About The Position

Under the direction and supervision of the Shop Foreman and Manager of Fleet & Facility Maintenance, the Servicer A cleans MTS Bus vehicles, divisional garages, shops and office areas, and performs in-route bus changes. Other essential duties of the Servicer A position include, but are not limited to, the following: EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: Essential Functions Vehicle Maintenance: Scrub exteriors, clean interiors including walls, seats and windows, sweep and mop bus floors, spray for insects as required and park buses in assigned locations. Facilities Maintenance: Ensure shops are clean using solvent cleaners, empty waste baskets and trash barrels, clean lavatories and replenish paper products, remove litter from yard areas. Record Keeping: Maintain written record of bus mileage and cleaning record. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be 19 years of age or older
  • Must have high school diploma or GED
  • Must possess and maintain a valid California driver's license at the time of application
  • Must have three years of driving experience
  • If applicant has resided in California less than three years, a copy of the applicant's driving record from previous state of residence must be submitted in addition to California records
  • Must hold or be able to obtain a Class B California license and must meet DMV driving record standard as established by the Human Resources Department
  • California Driving Record will be required at the time of application
  • Ability to back buses into marked spaces
  • Ability to use all required cleaning instruments and components
  • Ability to read, write and understand oral and written instructions in the English language and follow established safety practices
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn MTS policies and regulations
  • Ability to read, understand and apply MTS policies and regulations
  • Ability to speak clearly, distinctly and effectively in person-to-person or small group situations using tact and diplomacy
  • Must satisfactorily pass all applicable examinations including, but not limited to, a pre-employment physical, drug screen and background check
  • Must be able to fulfill the physical demands of the job such as walking, stooping, sitting, bending, reaching overhead and lifting (must be able to lift up to 50 pounds)
  • Must be able operate a motor vehicle and perform tasks involving manual dexterity, such as use of a computer and 10-key
  • The Maintenance Department operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day; must be able to work on any day or shift, including weekends and holidays when required
