About The Position

The Bus Attendant at The Betsy is responsible for ensuring a clean and pleasant dining experience for guests by performing various tasks such as clearing and sanitizing tables, responding to customer inquiries, and maintaining the dining area. This role is essential in supporting the food and beverage operations of the hotel, contributing to the overall guest experience in a luxury setting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1 year of prior experience in a luxury hotel or high-end restaurant strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand basic English; Spanish is desirable.
  • Fulfill the Food Handler and Responsible Vendor training and certification requirements.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks like standing and walking for extended periods, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs of weight, and working outdoors.
  • Use a point of sale system.
  • Follow detailed instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans and sanitizes tables, chairs, serving stations, and other surfaces around the restaurant.
  • Sets dining tables according to The Betsy standards.
  • Responds to customer inquiries and promptly addresses customer requests or complaints.
  • Clears dirty or unused dishes, glassware, linen, or silverware from tables and carries them to the kitchen for cleaning.
  • Performs serving, cleaning, or stocking duties in the restaurant to facilitate customer service.
  • Carries food, dishes, trays, or silverware from the kitchens to the serving station or dining room as needed.
  • Cleans up spilled food or drinks or broken dishes and removes empty bottles and trash.
  • Serves ice water, coffee, rolls, or butter to patrons.
  • Maintains adequate supplies of items such as clean linens, silverware, glassware, dishes, or trays.
  • Cleans and polishes counters, shelves, walls, furniture, or equipment in food service areas and mops or vacuums floors.
  • Stocks cabinets or serving areas with condiments and refills condiment containers.
  • Carries linens to or from laundry areas.
  • Performs additional tasks as required by management.
