About The Position

The Bus Aide position is responsible for assisting with the safe transportation of students to and from school. This role involves ensuring that students are seated properly, following safety protocols, and providing support to the bus driver as needed. The Bus Aide will also help manage student behavior and ensure a positive and safe environment during transit.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff.
• Patience and understanding when working with children.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and procedures.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with children or in a school environment.
• First aid and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the bus driver in ensuring the safety of students during transportation.
• Help students board and exit the bus safely.
• Monitor student behavior and enforce safety rules.
• Provide assistance to students with special needs as required.
• Report any issues or incidents to the bus driver or school administration.

Benefits

• Hourly rate as per the Agreement with the South Plainfield Education Association and the South Plainfield Board of Education.
