The position involves performing a variety of duties to burr and break edges on aircraft engine parts according to instructions contained in operation sheets. The employee will work from operations sheets or instructions from the parts coordinator or department supervisor. Responsibilities include gathering tools and equipment needed to deburr parts, laying out abrasives and air guns required for each part or operation, and setting up holding devices such as rotary and hydraulic tables if needed. The role requires the use of carbide drills, emery cratex and flat wheels, PSA discs, buffing and wire sheets, and diamond files according to operation requirements. The employee will operate burr guns of different configurations or buffing machines to achieve the dimensions required on operations sheets. Additionally, the employee will prepare the first piece and submit it along with appropriate documentation to the In-Process Inspector, and inspect their own work using micrometers, calipers, verniers, GO-NOGO gage blocks and pins, and visual aids.
