About The Position

The primary role of the facility technician is to continuously improve the reliability, efficiency and maintenance of the Building/Grounds and support equipment. The technician is expected to know and follow HACCP program and principles, USDA guidelines, and Good Manufacturing Practices.

Requirements

• One-year experience in facility maintenance and repair preferred
• Familiarity with forklift, skid loaders, and similar equipment a plus
• Requires basic math, reading, and writing skills, manual dexterity, and ability to maintain a rapid pace for extended periods
• Self-motivation and team attitude essential
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and have the physical ability to do the following tasks for extended periods of time: standing, walking, sitting, bending, climbing up steps and using ladders
• Able to work in loud and hot and cold environments
• Willing to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as required
• Must have a valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Maintains tool room equipment regarding plates, knives and blades; performs routine preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and physical structures, and on the plumbing, mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems; Ensures safe and optimum functioning equipment, systems, and processes (65%)
• Performs set up/tear down of process equipment daily (25%)
• Facility rounds to inspect and record various repairs needed (5%)
• Inspects facility safety equipment such as fire extinguishers and sprinkler systems to ensure compliance is always maintained (5%)
• Will be required to work with and develop equipment and ideas deemed to be confidential information and/or trade secrets owned by the company.
