BUNKER GEAR TECHNICIAN (FD Non Civil Service) (PART TIME)
About The Position
We are currently seeking: A part-time Bunker Gear Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible to maintain SAFD firefighting gear to NFPA 1851 standards. Your responsibilities: Conduct annual inspection of all SAFD Structural Firefighting Gear. Clean and decontaminate Structural Firefighting Gear as needed. Track and maintain history of all SAFD Personal Protective Clothing. Hours: Less than 30 hours per week. Regular and timely attendance is required. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.
Requirements
- Ability to prioritize work schedule.
- Must possess excellent communication skills.
- Some mechanical aptitude is required.
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess a valid Texas Driver License with a good driving record.
- Applicants with an out-of-state driver license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure.
- Must possess or obtain, within three months of employment, NFPA 1851 PPE Advanced Care and Cleaning Certification.
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
- Must be able to bend and stoop.
