About The Position

The Bundler Associate is responsible for performing various operations on fiber optic products, primarily focusing on bundling connectors together. This role involves using hand tools, maintaining product quality, and adhering to safety and procedural guidelines. The associate will be cross-trained in multiple operations but will primarily focus on bundling tasks, with flexibility to assist in other areas as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous manufacturing experience.
• Intermediate math skills, including unit conversions, fractions, decimals, area, and length calculations.
• Familiarity with a wide variety of hand tools and measuring devices.
• Ability to read and interpret term sheets and procedures.
• Demonstrated people and communication skills in a team environment.
• Ability to maintain respect among team members.
• Ability to make routine decisions using pre-established guidelines regarding product quality standards.
• Ability to resolve minor machine problems and escalate issues when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Perform bundling operations on the bundle line, applying ties to connector cordage (95% of the role).
• Assist with other tasks as needed, including kitting, cord cutting, packing, and label making (5% of the role).
• Demonstrate proficiency in intermediate and somewhat advanced fiber optic assembly processes.
• Follow OFS Personnel Policies & Safety Procedures and ISO guidelines.
• Maintain a clean work area according to 5S principles.
• Notify support personnel of equipment/process problems promptly to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
• Ensure product quality as defined by established procedures and product specifications.
• Work independently or as part of a team at the assigned shop location.
• Support and improve production processes.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts such as SGA/Quality circles.
