Summary of Position Performs basic operations in the manufacturing process of plastic components used in the assembly of medical devices; operates basic equipment including but not limited to extruders, mills, cutters, blenders, etc.; assists in maintaining inventory control of raw materials and finished products; ensures adherence to quality standards and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in English language (reading and writing).
  • Basic math skills, basic computer skills, and good communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of FDA regulations related to medical device manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to wear protective clothing and PPE as required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Performs basic machine functions such as loading, unloading, operating and cleaning machines.
  • Performs hand packaging, bulk packaging or formulation operations.
  • Operates simple equipment, including but not limited to extruders, mixers, cutters, blenders, dryers, ovens, hoppers, tanks, pumps, valves, pipes, filters, conveyors, balers, compactors, etc.
  • Monitors and adjusts processes for production operations.
  • Adjusts screws, dies, punches, air jets, screens, molds, cylinders, etc., to meet specifications.
  • Performs sample testing and inspects product.
  • Packages, labels, and prepares finished goods for shipping.
  • Cleans work area and equipment, and performs preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Assists in troubleshooting equipment and resolving issues in production areas.
  • Maintains appropriate documentation, records and paperwork for all activities.
  • Participates in scheduled team meetings and contributes to continuous improvement.
  • Maintains a safe, organized, and clean work area.
