The position involves ensuring proper material and weight is loaded for each shipment, inspecting truck trailers and railcars for contaminants, and maintaining a smooth flow of truck and rail traffic. Responsibilities include unloading fuel cars, assisting production team members, completing daily equipment check reports, and managing silo inventory measurements. The role also requires performing maintenance and quality control tasks, adhering to safety regulations, and demonstrating good troubleshooting skills.

  • Ensure proper material and weight is loaded for each shipment.
  • Inspect truck trailers and railcars for contaminants before loading product.
  • Maintain a smooth and efficient flow of truck and rail traffic.
  • Unload fuel cars.
  • Assist production team members as needed.
  • Complete daily equipment check reports.
  • Complete bill of lading for truck and rail shipments.
  • Assist with training of new employees and/or new equipment.
  • Assist in plant cleanup of production areas as needed.
  • Perform kiln outage work as needed.
  • Charge fuel bins with the proper fuel blend.
  • Ensure accurate silo inventory measurements.
  • Distribute different product types into appropriate trucks/rail cars.
  • Understand process and layout of the plant.
  • Cross train in other production areas as needed.
  • Clean bins, conveyers, spills, and other cleaning duties as needed.
  • Keep rail and truck scales clean.
  • Maintain a water-free environment from coal unloading pit and scales.
  • Make minor adjustments to load-out related equipment.
  • Observe, monitor, and report any condition that could lead to equipment failure or housekeeping issues.
  • Perform physical inspections of load out/fuel yard area and related equipment.
  • Adhere to Company and governmental safety rules and regulations.
  • Follow lock out tag out procedures.
  • Understand safe operation of heavy equipment including shuttle wagon, front end loader, forklift, bobcat, and tractor.
  • Wear appropriate PPE when working with truck/rail equipment.
  • Report any potential operational or safety problems to supervisor.
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Industrial background with good troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
  • Ability to detect potential problems through observation in the field.
  • Must be able to work shift work, seven days a week including holidays.
  • Must have a telephone and be open to call-outs.
  • Demonstrate the ability to operate computers and related controls.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Must be able to multi-task and remain calm under pressure.
  • Good decision-making skills regarding safety.
  • Experience in an industrial background preferred.
  • Demonstrated skills of heavy equipment operation a plus.
  • History of safe operation of vehicle as demonstrated on driving record.
