About the position
The Bulk Delivery Driver is responsible for safely operating diesel-powered tractor-trailers to transport and deliver products to customer locations. This role involves local deliveries, ensuring compliance with FMCSA regulations, and providing excellent customer service while unloading products and interacting with sales teams.
Responsibilities
- Perform assigned pre-shift activities to ensure a productive shift, including reviewing work schedules and checking equipment.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections of the truck and trailers.
- Safely operate the tractor-trailer, adhering to all applicable laws and company policies.
- Complete required paperwork associated with freight, including obtaining signatures for cargo pick-up and delivery.
- Plan trips effectively using maps and GPS to ensure timely deliveries.
- Record daily hours of service using an electronic log, following FMCSA and company requirements.
- Load and secure cargo within the trailer, maintaining seal control as required.
- Read and comprehend trip-related information to plan effectively for deliveries.
- Load and unload freight at customer locations using electric pallet jacks or manually.
- Perform post-shift activities, including coupling and uncoupling trucks and securing equipment.
Requirements
- Must read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to the position and FMCSA regulations.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid FMCSA physical certification within 60 days of entry into the position.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid Class A CDL for Interstate driving within 60 days of entry into the position.
- Two years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience preferred.
- Sales experience preferred.
- Lifting requirement of 50 lbs.
- Ability to use a pallet jack and perform physical tasks related to loading and unloading.
