About The Position

The Buildings and Grounds Department at the YMCA of the Rockies is seeking individuals who enjoy working outdoors and are not afraid of physical labor. This role involves various tasks such as collecting trash and recyclables, snow removal, trail maintenance, simple landscaping, and flower watering. The department is responsible for maintaining over 860 acres at the Estes Park Center and over 5000 acres at Snow Mountain Ranch, which includes hundreds of buildings. Staff members are expected to provide extraordinary mission-based experiences for guests and uphold the YMCA's core values.

Requirements

• Must uphold and reflect the YMCA core values of CARING, HONESTY, RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY, and FAITH.
• Excellent customer service skills, including being friendly, personable, helpful, patient, and professional.
• Must meet acceptable criminal background check standards.
• Ability to assist in housekeeping and food service duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Collect trash and recyclables from assigned routes.
• Perform snow removal and trail maintenance as needed.
• Engage in simple landscaping tasks, including flower watering.
• Assist in the upkeep and repair of cabins, lodges, and support facilities.
• Change light bulbs, install screens, and unclog toilets as part of building maintenance.
• Climb ladders and scaffolding to perform maintenance tasks on roofs.
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools for maintenance work.
• Maintain underground sprinkler systems and care for flowers, trees, shrubs, and grass.
• Promote a safe work environment for guests, members, and staff.
