About The Position

This position is responsible to operate, adjust, monitor, repair, respond to, regulate, and troubleshoot all building automation systems, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems to ensure proper function with respect to safety, economy, and comfort. This position is not responsible for providing patient care. Requirements

  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the 2012 version of NFPA 101 Life Safety Code.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer functions.
  • Demonstrated, strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively work independently, or in a group setting.
  • Ability to read blue prints.
  • Ability to follow specific directions.
  • Demonstrated computer, organization, human relations, and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to cooperate with other shop craftsman and staff.
  • Ability to make repairs, or call on the required trades, as needed.
  • Ability to be on call 24/7 and be responsible for employees and facilities day and night.
  • Ability to perform rotating shifts.
  • Demonstrated time management skills and ability to prioritize work in order to deliver successful results.
  • Ability to be self-motivated and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to be organized and have proven capabilities in multi-tasking, problem solving and prioritizing workloads.
  • Eighteen (18) months of verified, hands-on maintenance and repair experience in one or more of the following areas: HVAC-R, Building Automation Systems, Plumbing, Emergency Power Supply Systems, Electrical Systems, Fire Alarm & Suppression Systems.
  • Depending upon department of hire, a valid, State of Utah Driver's License may be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Knowledge of Atkinson or Metasys Building Automation Systems.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm systems.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors all building automation systems, other alarms and trouble calls.
  • Responds to trouble calls from building occupants and computer alarms in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assesses the damage, or situation, and makes timely decisions regarding the best course of action to be taken.
  • Repairs and troubleshoots HVAC, plumbing, mechanical and electrical building equipment issues in a timely manner.
  • Reviews alarm summaries and makes adjustments to the Building Automation Systems in a timely manner.
  • Regularly and consistently documents and communicates daily building system problems.
  • Advises the appropriate administration/trades staff of situations that may affect normal operations, in a timely manner.
  • Takes daily readings of all major equipment including air supply temperatures, pressure relationships, water temperatures, and document/inspect for irregularities in readings.
