Requirements

Bachelor's degree is minimum requirement.
Willingness to go through and pass the required clearances and training to ensure the safety and security of our children, including: mandated reporter training, a physical, and TB test. This can typically be accomplished within a week to get you started.
Ability to quickly establish rapport with students and adapt to different classroom settings.
Strong classroom management skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with the school's policies and procedures.
Flexibility and adaptability to different teaching assignments.
Completed background check and clearance.
Capacity for sitting, standing, walking, bending and stopping for long periods of time, as these happen throughout the eight-hour day.

Responsibilities

Classroom Management: Implement lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the absent teacher. Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
Instructional Delivery: Deliver lessons in accordance with the established curriculum. Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
Student Engagement: Foster student engagement and participation in classroom activities. Encourage a positive and respectful atmosphere for effective learning.
Supervision: Supervise students during class time, transitions, and other school-related activities. Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.
Communication: Communicate effectively with students, school staff, and administrators. Provide feedback on the day's activities and report any issues or concerns to the regular teacher or school administration.
Follow Policies and Procedures: Adhere to school and district policies and procedures. Implement emergency procedures when necessary.
Professionalism: Demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions. Uphold high standards of behavior and ethics.
Flexibility: Be flexible and adaptable to different grade levels, subjects, and school environments. Follow the guidance provided by the regular teacher and school administrators.
Classroom Materials: Utilize classroom materials and technology as specified in lesson plans. Leave the classroom in an organized state for the returning teacher.
