About The Position
Dedicated School Staffing is proud to support Summit Academy - Toledo for the recruitment of substitute school based employment opportunities. We are looking for Building Substitute Teachers, dedicated substitutes looking for committed work within a building or district, every day the school is in session, for the entire school year. Not unlike long term teachers, Building Substitute Teachers have a regular presence in a school and are relied on to show up every day and make it count.
Requirements
- A minimum of a High School Degree or GED is required.
- Clean criminal background.
- Three (3) positive professional references.
- Experience working with school aged children.
- Ohio Department of Education Substitute Teacher License ($25), or higher license.
- FBI & BCI Background checks dated within 12 months (Cost varies per agency).
Responsibilities
- Follows lesson plans.
- Maintains a neat and orderly classroom.
- Ensures that students are never left unattended in the classroom.
- Keeps students safe and engaged.
- Monitors student progress and assists where needed by keeping proximity.
- Maintains existing classroom management and discipline procedures.
- Understands building and classroom policy and procedures.
- Provides written feedback for the classroom teacher.
- Maintains accurate attendance records.
