Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects is seeking a full-time Structural CAD/BIM Technician to support our General Buildings group in Colorado Springs. This person will lead tasks related to the production of building and industrial structural design projects. Requirements

  • Proficient in computer-aided drafting and design programs, including AutoDesk Revit, as well as Microsoft Office
  • High level of subject-matter confidence and strong work ethic.
  • Inherently strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Well organized and able to engage in various projects/tasks simultaneously while consistently meeting related budgets and deadlines.
  • Attention to detail, with excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of structural design drawing packages.
  • Associates degree in drafting or engineering technology / direct Structure CAD experience.
  • High degree of Autodesk Revit proficiency.
  • Strong working experience with Bluebeam Revu and Bluebeam Studio.
  • Familiarity with other design platforms and applications such as Bentley Microstation, Autodesk Civil 3D, ProjectWise

Responsibilities

  • Create, coordinate, and collaborate with project team staff to develop complete and accurate construction drawings.
  • Spearhead interoperability of Revit with plug-ins for structural analysis packages.
  • Customize Revit workflow be enhancing data management through visual programming, Python scripting, API integration, and computational geometry with Dynamo and DiRoots.
  • Produce high-quality work products and follow rigid quality control procedures.
  • Assist other Revit/BIM Users in updating and maintaining a customized template with a library of standard details, families, and schedules.
  • Assist other Revit/BIM Users in identifying and implementing new Revit/BIM practices as software and technology change.
  • Apply and follow either client-owned or client-specified Revit/BIM standards.
  • Maintain familiarity with industry standards and methods.
  • Facilitate preparation and updates of engineering drawing packages that have undergone quality control reviews and adequately document these reviews for compliance purposes.
  • Assemble plan sets through coordination with multiple engineering disciplines and associated reference files.
  • Perform quantity and geometry calculations in Revit/BIM environment to support designs and development of engineer construction cost estimates.
