About the position
The Building Specialist, under general supervision, assist the Director of the Student Center in the day to day operations of the Panther Plaza, WAT-MSC, and Farrell Hall Laundry. The duties include opening and closing the facility, making sure all doors and gates are locked. Make sure the facility is cleaned. Process work orders for maintenance of the facility. Produce marketing material for advertising the facility. Make sure the website is current and up to date. This position may pay more than the salary listed above depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
Responsibilities
- Material handling, work special events to include setting up furniture (table and chairs), working the audio/sound system in our auditorium and ballroom.
- Process work orders for repairs to the facility and make sure the repairs are done in a timely manner.
- Inspect exterior entries, sidewalks & interior for trash/ debris. Inspect cleanliness of hallways, restrooms, windows & offices. Setup/Breakdown & work sound equipment for events in the facilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three years of related experience.
- Knowledge of basic building maintenance.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift moderately heavy objects.
- Ability to exert heavy force.
Nice-to-haves
- 1-3 years experience with audio/visual equipment.
