About The Position

The City of Lenexa Parks and Recreation department is currently accepting applications for a Part-Time Building Service Worker. Hours: Tuesday and Wednesday, 6:00-11:00 PM; and Saturday and Sunday 6:00-10:00 PM (18 hours per week) Position Summary This position performs custodial duties involving cleaning and routine maintenance at multiple City facilities and adjacent grounds, operating equipment and setting up and cleaning up for meetings and events.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license.
• Must have First Aid/CPR/AED certification or obtain within six months of employment.
• Must complete required NIMS IS-100 and IS-700 training within three months of employment.

• One year of prior job-related experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists participants with special events, rentals and programs at a variety of City facilities and parks.
• Sets up meetings, recreational activities, birthday parties and City events scheduled at several City buildings.
• Sweeps, vacuums and mops floors; dust and cleans offices, restrooms, meeting rooms and other work areas; strips, waxes and polishes floors; shampoos carpets.
• Operates City vehicles to transport equipment and supplies to various facilities and events around the City.
• Cleans sidewalks and removes snow and ice; removes debris and other litter from building grounds.
• Operates tools and electrically powered machines (i.e., propane/ electric buffers, Grout Hog, Kaivac and auto scrubbers (walk-behind & ride-on), etc.).
• Drives City and/or personal vehicle to perform essential functions of position.
