About The Position

Building Services Supervisor is responsible for ensuring standards of cleaning are met, performing custodial quality checks, training new employees on proper custodial procedures & hospitality, general maintenance of facilities, event set-up ensuring client standards are met, scheduling, opening and/or closing of the venue, and other duties assigned by the Director of Operations. This role pays an hourly rate of $18.00-$20.00 Benefits for Full-Time roles: Health, Dental and Vision Insurance, 401(k) Savings Plan, 401(k) matching, and Paid Time Off (vacation days, sick days, and 11 holidays) This position will remain open until April 17, 2026. OVG has an excellent and immediate opening for a Building Services Supervisor at the Fort Smith Convention Center in Ft. Smith AR. The Fort Smith Convention Center offers 116,800 square feet of usable, infinitely flexible event space including 40,000 sq. ft. Exhibit Hall, 8 Meeting Rooms and over 3,000 sq. ft. of pre-function space. The Convention Center also boasts a 1,331-seat state-of-the-art Performing Arts Center just steps from historic downtown Fort Smith, Arkansas. The Building Services Supervisor provides supervision while working hands on alongside their event set-up & janitorial team, as well as other duties assigned by the Director of Operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience with facility coordination and direct employee supervision
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with ability to function in a multi-task environment
  • Ability to work beyond normal business hours as required, including but not limited to nights, weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the cleanliness throughout the Fort Smith Convention Center and ArcBest Performing Arts Center.
  • Manage event set-up & janitorial staff.
  • Create weekly staff schedule based on business needs.
  • Ability to vacuum, clean restrooms, wipe surfaces, change trash cans, and other cleaning functions as assigned.
  • Coordinate and supervise post-cleans and day-to-day janitorial crew
  • Ensure room sets meet clients standards and venue is set according to the Banquet Event Order.
  • Assist with the daily maintenance operations of the building
  • Organize all storage rooms to be in neat and working order
  • Ensure all cleaning equipment is maintained and in good working condition (vacuums, scrubbers, extractors. etc)
  • Train staff on proper use & care of cleaning equipment
  • Other Duties as Assigned
