About The Position
The Housing and Community Development (HCD) brings together a range of Land Use services including Housing, Planning, Building, Engineering, and Environmental Services to ensure reasonable and safe development, plan for the future needs of the County, manage infrastructure and County facilities, and protect natural resources. The Department is responsible for building services, engineering services, environmental services, current planning, advanced planning, community development project and program financing, and housing programs. Under direction, the Building Plans Examiner is responsible for performing the technical review of architectural and engineering plans for compliance with codes, ordinances, and related laws and regulations, and does other work as required. This position is a lead worker and is expected to review the more complex commercial architectural and engineering plans.
