Requirements

  • Minimum four (4) years of experience in direct supervision of all areas of maintenance and facilities operations.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Familiarity with federal and state regulations pertaining to construction, fire, electrical, safety and plumbing issues.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • CFC certified preferred.
  • Black Seal Low Pressure Boiler Operators License and/or HVAC Technician Certification preferred.
  • Blue Seal Refrigeration License preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Fluent in Facilities Management Software.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the facilities personnel and services to provide a safe, operationally-efficient and comfortable environment for all students, staff and guests.
  • Direct and supervise the work of all mechanical, maintenance and trades staff during all shifts and weekends.
  • Maintain efficiency of mechanical maintenance staff by scheduling work hours and overtime; scheduling repairs of heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment and systems.
  • Develop and oversee a program of mandatory preventative and predictive maintenance work.
  • Establish work routines, distribute work orders and rotate staff to effectively accomplish completion of work orders, preventative maintenance, repairs, renovations and new construction.
  • Monitor employees' performance, prepare performance appraisals, and recommend disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Prepare and manage a budget for the department and review monthly financial reports.
  • Manage facilities, College vehicles, equipment and code and regulation compliance.
  • Prepare and manage all snow removal activities.
  • Plan, organize and implement services of all Physical Plant personnel to achieve timely, efficient, and quality customer service.
  • Interact with government officials to ensure compliance with all codes and standards.
  • Assist with training for all assigned employees in the proper use of all equipment.
  • Practice and enforce proper safety methods at all times.
  • Be accessible by phone twenty-four (24) hours a day and seven (7) days a week.
