About The Position

The Building Maintenance position is responsible for the maintenance of all corporation buildings and grounds to provide for a safe, clean, and habitable environment. The role requires a basic understanding of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and maintenance, along with the ability to learn from on-the-job training. The position involves physical demands such as lifting up to 50 pounds, standing or walking for long periods, and climbing a 12 ft ladder. Flexibility in scheduling and availability for overtime is also required.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and maintenance
• Ability to learn from on-the-job training
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time
• Ability to work without close supervision
• Must be able to climb a 12 ft ladder
• Availability to work overtime and flexible schedule if needed

Responsibilities

• Operation, repair, and maintenance of doors and hardware
• Maintenance of ceiling tile systems
• Painting and wall and flooring repairs
• Minor electrical repairs including bulbs, ballast, switches, and outlets
• Plumbing repairs including faucets, toilets, shower valves, and roto-rooter
• Preventive maintenance on any assigned equipment
• Operation of maintenance equipment such as lifts, tractors, mowers, forklifts, and dock lifts
• Snow removal including brooming sidewalks and spreading ice melt
• Assisting with transporting items between corporation buildings
• Displaying proper conduct in the presence of students and faculty
• Performing other duties as assigned by Maintenance Team Leaders
