About The Position

Under the direction of the Operations Manager and/or Trades Specialist II Lead, performs various tasks in general construction and building maintenance type work. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years experience in general trades building maintenance experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or other craft trades.
  • Completion of an associate degree in building maintenance or other craft trade.
  • Completion of a 2-year accredited vocational craft trades program.
  • Ability to read blueprints and operate a computer.
  • Ability to follow OSHA guidelines and associated codes.
  • Ability to lift materials over 75 pounds and work in inclement weather.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of equipment, tools, parts, and materials related to building maintenance trades.
  • Ability to distinguish colors in the workplace.
  • Ability to rapidly learn all policies and procedures impacting the affected area.

Responsibilities

  • Performs maintenance duties related to carpentry, including fabrication and repair of casework and furniture, installation and repair of floors and ceilings, and installation of window AC units.
  • Installs and repairs drywall, insulation, trims, and moldings; fabricates and maintains walls, minor concrete forms, ramps, scaffolding, etc.
  • Performs troubleshooting and maintenance duties related to electrical systems, including replacing light switches, ballasts, outlets, and performing minor repairs to lighting systems.
  • Performs plumbing maintenance, including repair and maintenance of faucets, clearing plugged drains, and replacing worn or damaged commode seats.
  • Performs general maintenance duties related to HVAC, including calibration of temperature controls and minor repairs to residential appliances.
  • Operates various types of motorized aerial work platforms and truck-mounted lifts, ensuring safety procedures are followed.
  • Requisition parts and supplies from Warehouse and Tool Crib, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Performs scheduled and preventive maintenance on equipment, including visual inspections and filter changes.
  • Maintains a clean work area and performs other related duties as required by the supervisor.
