About The Position

The Building Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the operational excellence of our client's campus facilities. You will provide comprehensive mechanical and technical support, performing diverse maintenance tasks that keep our facilities running smoothly and safely. This hands-on position requires expertise across multiple skilled trades including plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, patching and painting, and basic electrical work. Your contributions directly impact facility uptime, workplace safety, and the overall client experience, making you an essential part of JLL's commitment to delivering world-class facility management services.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in building maintenance, plumbing, electrical, construction, or patch and painting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of plumbing, mechanical systems, basic electrical work, and construction practices
  • Physical ability to lift at least fifty pounds and safely use ladders up to twenty-eight feet
  • Proficiency with computer systems including MS Office, Google Docs, and CMMS platforms
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to maintain accurate records and documentation

Nice To Haves

  • Valid driver's license required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical training, apprenticeship, or associate degree in a related field
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical or life sciences environment
  • Knowledge of NFPA standards and local/state building codes
  • Experience applying mechanical principles across multiple skilled trades (carpentry, locksmith work, office furniture repair)
  • Proven ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools, equipment, and machinery for maintenance, repair, and fabrication
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, evenings, or shutdowns as needed with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and team-oriented mindset

Responsibilities

  • Maintain building architectural components including roof repairs, ceiling tiles, floor tiles/base cove, and door hardware to ensure structural integrity and appearance
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on pumps, motors, and hydraulic systems related to facility equipment, minimizing downtime and extending asset life
  • Maintain and repair plumbing components including toilets, urinals, lavatories, flush valves, water fountains, sinks, drains, water heaters, piping, and sump pumps
  • Execute patch and paint work for walls, ceilings, and other surfaces, including drywall repair, wall coverings, and finishing work to maintain facility appearance and standards
  • Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for work order initiation, tracking, and completion, including generating reports and maintaining organized documentation
  • Assist with facility inspections to identify mechanical and equipment issues, evaluate conditions, and determine appropriate corrective actions
  • Respond effectively to emergency situations and perform additional maintenance duties as assigned to support facility operations
