Building Maintenance Technician - JLL What this job involves: The Building Maintenance Technician performs skilled preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, utilities, and general building systems. This role supports reliable day‑to‑day facility operations, ensuring compliance, safety, and equipment uptime in accordance with JLL standards and client expectations. What your day-to-day will look like: Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on building systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, utilities, and general facility equipment. Troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, air handling units, valves, piping systems, fans, and related infrastructure. Monitor and maintain critical systems such as chilled water, hot water, steam, compressed air, and ventilation. Respond quickly and professionally to service calls, alarms, and facility requests. Complete CMMS documentation including PMs, corrective work orders, inspections, and parts usage. Review and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, SOPs, and technical manuals. Assist in root cause analysis (RCA) and recommend preventive actions to improve reliability. Follow all GMP requirements, SOPs, safety policies, and change-control processes where applicable. Perform work in cleanrooms, laboratories, utility corridors, and temperature-controlled areas. Maintain accuracy in maintenance logs, equipment records, and compliance documentation. Support equipment installations, commissioning, upgrades, and facility improvement projects. Work effectively with HVAC, electrical, utilities, controls, plumbing, and external vendors. Provide support during utility shutdowns, outages, seasonal maintenance, and reliability projects. Perform minor building repairs (doors, ceiling tiles, fixtures, basic plumbing, light carpentry). Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment. Deliver strong customer service and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Technical experience in facility maintenance, building services, mechanical systems, or engineering operations.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, technical diagrams, and equipment schematics.
  • CMMS experience for managing work orders and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Working knowledge of safety programs including LOTO, hazard reporting, and mechanical/electrical safety.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capability

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in GMP, manufacturing, laboratory, or controlled environments.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, utilities, mechanical, plumbing, or electrical building systems.
  • Trade school, military technical training, or equivalent certifications.
  • Experience with BAS/BMS systems.
  • OSHA 10 or related safety training.
