About The Position

Monitor, Maintain, and initiate preventive maintenance measures that can help keep all equipment in good condition. Ensure that facility is in good conditions, equipment is working appropriately, warehouse installations are adequate for food storage and operations use; notify operations of necessary arrangements to allow contractors to perform requested work without compromising food integrity and employees safety. Adequately carries out all activities related to security and quality of the finished product related to building maintenance Maintains safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures Ensures city, county, state, and federal regulations relating to the maintenance department are met at all times. Complies and enforces security norms and food quality. Quality: Cleans tools and maintains food safe repairs to equipment. Manages level of adherence to Good Distribution Practices with regards to Maintenance. Ensures compliance with all company and regulatory product quality standards, sanitation standards, food safety standards, employee safety and environmental standards Complies and enforces food quality. Complies and enforces Good Distribution Practices (GDPs) Maintain a personal neat and clean appearance. Operations: Carrying out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues. Provide repairs on equipment and facilities to ensure a safe and efficient operations. Coordinate equipment and facility repairs via third party contractor if required Order & Cleanliness: Keep work area clean and in neat condition. Meet and enforce best practices for warehouse (GDPs) Managers or Supervisor may assign other duties. General Functions: Maintain equipment functioning in a safe and efficient operation. Repairs or replaces defective parts. Install special functional and structural parts in devices. Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment. Plans for and takes corrective action. Analyzes AC/DC circuits 0-480 V, wiring diagrams and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service, and replace electrical and electronic devices and systems if applicable. Makes preventive maintenance check and inspection of assigned equipment, reports findings to supervisor and takes appropriate action. Notifies supervisor of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action taken, and of quality problems or supplies needed. Instructs and directs any maintenance helpers assigned. Subject to on-call schedule.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED and/or Technical training or 3 years experience.
  • Job involves standing most of shift.
  • Good physical condition, able to lift and push 50 lbs. safely.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to repair machines properly.
  • Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping and bending (more than 4 hours of each activity?).
  • Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions, operate machines, and visually inspect parts and equipment.
  • Technical Skills Ability to use hand tools and trades type tools.
  • Computer Literate in basic Excel, word and Microsoft Office
  • High mental and visual effort required.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts when required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a Food manufacturing environment desirable.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
