About The Position

The Building Maintenance Technician III is responsible for regional maintenance of the buildings, grounds and equipment of First Mid Bank & Trust. Primary accountabilities include assuring that all facilities in the region are operationally safe, sound and free from health hazards, operating at peak efficiency by managing maintenance contracts, troubleshooting maintenance issues, procuring materials/equipment necessary for maintenance, and by providing overall support to the Facilities team.

Requirements

  • High School diploma
  • 5+ years of facilities maintenance
  • Knowledge of building systems operations in the technical areas of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire/security.
  • Considerable knowledge of construction techniques and building materials
  • Working knowledge of safety procedures and laws
  • Ability to manage several projects at once and adaptive to change
  • Clearly communicate ideas and thoughts both verbally and in writing
  • Evaluate problems and find cost effective solutions
  • Embrace technology
  • Heavy lifting is required, up to or exceeding 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and implement all aspects of facility management.
  • Provide/perform coordination, supervision and implementation of space planning projects.
  • Participate in assigned renovation and remodeling projects.
  • Respond to maintenance requests by assessing the concerns, troubleshooting as necessary, recommending solutions and taking action as required.
  • Determine maintenance equipment, supplies and construction materials needed in the delivery of maintenance services.
  • Ensure facilities and equipment are in good working order and meet the needs of the organization, employees and customers.
  • Provide technical or maintenance specific training to staff members.
  • Supervise, enforce, conduct and train staff in emergency evacuations and ensure compliance with building and fire regulations.
  • Communicate with branch/department managers and staff to ensure facilities, equipment and purchasing needs are appropriately met.
  • Oversee facilities vendor performance to ensure service agreements are met.
  • Develop methods of reducing occupancy costs without sacrificing program and/or maintenance objectives.
  • Make recommendations for Capital Expenditure items for the assigned region.
  • Prepare, manage and maintain the excess furniture inventory in all storage locations. Recommend re-deployment opportunities.
  • Provide fleet management services for corporate vehicles.
  • Travel is required throughout the assigned region.
  • Accept other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
