About The Position

Based in Southern California near the Los Angeles International Airport, The Marvin Group consists of Marvin Engineering (MEC), Marvin Test Solutions (MTS) and Marvin Land Systems (MLS).  Marvin Engineering designs and produces military Alternate Mission Equipment.  Marvin Test Solutions designs and manufactures armament Test Equipment. Marvin Land Systems specializes in the design and build of power and thermal management systems. Our collaboration extends across a diverse array of programs and platforms, including major military prime contractors such as Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon.  POSITION SUMMARY:    The Building Maintenance Technician I position, under limited supervision, performs work of routine difficulty maintenance and related work as assigned.

Requirements

  • Maintain awareness and understanding of documents published in the BMS Library, with specific competency of general as well as related field documents.
  • Required skills in decision making, time management, customer/client focus and attention to detail.
  • Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb all day.
  • Frequently lifts and/or move items over 35 pounds.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work unsupervised.
  • Reading, writing and general math skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a group (Team) environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to speak/read/write English.
  • Must be willing to have flexible work hours.
  • Must have a Highschool Diploma or G.E.D equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine maintenance on building interior and exterior.
  • Routine maintenance tasks could include assembly, furniture/equipment/material moves, minor electrical, minor plumbing and general labor.
  • Must possess the ability to safely use hand and power tools.
  • Interacts and may require contacting vendors and contractors for necessary building repairs and emergencies that are outside the scope of routine maintenance.
  • Maintains a schedule of when maintenance has been performed and when next service is due.
  • Works in an organized and safe manner and recognizes unsafe situations. Takes appropriate action to ensure safety of themselves and others in building.
  • Responsible for the completion and accuracy of documentation related to assigned tasks.
  • May be assigned tasks outside the scope of this job description.
