About The Position

The Building Maintenance Engineer at NorthPoint is responsible for maintaining the physical integrity of commercial and industrial properties. This role involves ensuring a safe and secure environment for tenants, visitors, and staff by anticipating, identifying, and correcting any property-related issues. The position requires a proactive approach to maintenance and collaboration with subcontractors and vendors to uphold the company's commitment to quality and safety.

Requirements

  • Commercial building maintenance experience.
  • High school diploma, GED, or related experience and/or training.
  • EPA 608 certification.
  • Strong technical competence and commercial awareness.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Energetic, resourceful, and hands-on individual with a strong customer service orientation.
  • Attention to detail and great organizational skills.
  • Ability to approach problems both logically and creatively.
  • Demonstrate a confident and positive approach when interacting with all team members and visitors.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team and independently.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair all aspects of commercial and industrial real estate.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, drywall, painting, fire sprinkler systems, building controls, doors, windows, and caulking.
  • Read, understand, and utilize wiring diagrams, schematics, drawings, and blueprints.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks on physical structures, plumbing, HVAC, fire sprinkler, and electrical systems.
  • Respond to and complete service requests.
  • Maintain accurate records regarding preventive maintenance, service requests, expenditures, and work-in-progress.
  • Schedule and perform minor and routine maintenance on all appropriate equipment on a regular basis.
  • Inspect and maintain all tools in excellent condition.
  • Identify all utility meter cut-offs, fixture cut-offs, sewer cleanouts, and prepare maps indicating the same.
  • Perform work area clean-up and safety-related duties.
  • Assist in keeping grounds neat and free of litter.
  • Perform after-hour on-call duties as required.
  • Assist Project Managers, Property Managers, and Leasing Agents with TI process and bids.
  • Manage all routine subcontract work for contract performance and quality.
