About The Position

The Building & Maintenance Division Manager provides significant administration, supervision, oversight, and direction for all maintenance and repair activities done on municipal buildings and facilities. This recruitment is for the General Services Department.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction, or a related field.
• Five (5) years of experience in building repair and maintenance work with at least two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.
• A valid State driver's license is required.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Directs, leads, and administers the work of all tradesworkers in the upkeep, maintenance, and care of all buildings and equipment.
• Oversees and directs all construction, renovation, modification, installation, and repair of City buildings, apparatus, fixtures, and facilities.
• Develops, establishes, and implements the department's budget; oversees and administers expenses and various purchases required to ensure all operations run smoothly.
• Oversees the communication and coordination with engineers, contractors, architects, vendors, and other parties.
• Performs site visits to monitor progress and address concerns or challenges.
• Ensures that appropriate data is captured and properly recorded by members of the division.
• Performs research, studies, surveys, audits, and recommends emerging technologies that will maximize energy efficiency in city buildings.
• Administers and supervises the development and creation of documents and contracts.
• Confers and coordinates work requests and work orders throughout the City.
• Handles and provides high level management in emergency situations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Salary range: $91,780 - $100,958 DOQ
