About The Position

Join IMEG as a Building Intelligence & Integration Engineering Intern in Naperville, IL, and power your career with innovative, real-world project experience. Over 10–12 weeks, you’ll contribute to the analysis, design, proof-of-concept validation, and implementation oversight of low-voltage technology systems. Requirements

  • Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Architecture, or equivalent required
  • Strong interest in design consulting and/or smart buildings
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including, but not limited to, SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Understanding of Agile Framework concepts
  • Desire to innovate and question the status quo
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship experience in the building design consulting or construction industry preferred
  • Experience with technology integration protocols and systems is a plus
  • Understanding of basic networking, operating systems and software applications a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist with technology system design per code and IMEG standards
  • Research commercially available equipment and design resources
  • Support client relations and maintain project documentation
  • Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions
  • Monitor design progress and maintain project notebooks
  • Review project documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Assist with technology lab implementation and testing
  • Create smart building use case narratives and documentation libraries
  • Conduct job site observations and support contract services
