The City of Katy is seeking a dedicated Building Inspector to ensure the safety and integrity of building structures within the community. This role involves performing inspections of new and existing residential and commercial structures, including plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems, to ensure compliance with local and state codes, ordinances, and requirements. The Building Inspector will be responsible for maintaining effective records of inspections, answering questions from citizens and contractors, and consulting with various stakeholders to resolve discrepancies in plans and codes. This position is considered Critical Personnel during disasters and may require performing duties outside the usual scope of work.
