Under close supervision, receives training in building inspection duties related to construction, safety, codes, and ordinances; and performs related work as required. This is an Open Competitive/Countywide Promotional recruitment being conducted to fill a current full-time vacancy in the Community Services Department. The list established from this recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur. Most of the work for this position is conducted in the field; however, portions may include either work in the office or from home. This position is in a flexibly staffed class series. The hiring department has the discretion to hire at any level within the class series for which the applicant may be qualified. Applicants interested in being considered for both the Building Inspector and Building Inspector Trainee must submit an application for each position.
