BUILDING INSPECTOR AID (SR-14) [1 vacancy]
About The Position
Assists higher level inspectors in inspecting the construction, alteration or maintenance of buildings and structures of limited size and scope for compliance with the provisions of building and zoning codes and ordinances and adherence to approved plans and specifications by inspecting phases of projects; and performs other related duties as required. There is one (1) vacancy with the Department of Planning and Permitting., Building Division. If you qualify for the position, your name will be established to an eligible list. Requirements
- At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States of a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
- Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience which demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
- TWO (2)years of experience in inspecting or supervising building construction, preparing and/or reading and applying building plans and specifications, or interpreting and/or applying the Building Code and related ordinances.
- Valid Hawaii State driver's license (Type 3), prior to appointment.
