About The Position
CDM Smith is one of the world's top design, program management, and construction management firms, providing innovative and creative solutions for our clients and assisting them in achieving successful outcomes on their water, infrastructure, environmental, and transportation programs. We are looking for a mid to senior-level building information modeler who is proficient with Civil 3D. You will contribute to civil work designs by preparing basic to highly complex intelligent models, details and/or general arrangement drawings through proper translation of level of design (LOD), drawings and sketches of unusual, complex, or original designs requiring the application of predominantly practical engineering knowledge. You will also review manufacturers' or fabricators' prints for aid in design documents and provide lower-level modeling personnel with design sketches for preparation of finished design drawings, general layouts, and guidance in refining technical requirements. Additionally, you will determine material needs and perform necessary calculations using accepted formulas and references per the firm's standards.
