SUMMARY Partner Engineering and Science, Inc. is looking to hire a mid-level assessor to support the Building Envelope Solutions team. This position is responsible for self-performing field observations and/or tests as directed with minimal analysis of data. Under the direction of other technicians or staff professionals, perform routine field and/or laboratory tasks. Assist technician or staff professional in complex tasks, including field work, research, data compilation and report preparation for each project, depending on the scope of work and client needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 4+ years’ experience in a similar role and demonstrated competence in work assignments are preferred
  • 2+ years AutoCAD/Revit experience are preferred
  • Roof Consultants Institute “RCI”, RRO or EWRO registration or ability to obtain
  • Certified EIFS inspector, Certified Thermographer or similar certifications are preferred
  • Knowledge of building materials and constructions processes for design and repairs of roofs and building envelopes
  • Knowledge of building components, systems and cost estimating
  • Knowledge of multiple types of commercial roofing, exterior cladding and waterproofing systems
  • Ability to read and understand architectural drawings and related specification sections
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio
  • A demonstrable track record of excellent time management skills combined with the capability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability and willingness to travel potentially 40% to 60% of the time
  • Follow OSHA regulations and other regulatory agencies relating to job site safety, demonstrates safe work practices
  • Ability to physically navigate site properties in various weather conditions and the ability to climb a ladder and gain access to roofs
  • Ability to operate scissor and boom lifts; Certification preferred
  • Able to handle at least 50 lbs regularly
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Must be able to read, write, speak & comprehend English
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screen
  • Requires frequent bending, reaching, standing, walking, sitting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout the work shift

Responsibilities

  • Team member on projects providing assistance to experienced building envelope consultants
  • Observe, document, and report whether or not the measurable attributes of construction conform to the construction drawings, project specifications, and manufacturers’ installation guidelines
  • Perform roofing, waterproofing, and building enclosure field observations and/or testing under the direction of senior staff
  • Work outdoors on construction sites performing observation visits, existing condition surveys and destructive and non-destructive tests in accordance with industry standards
  • Assist with field investigations and condition assessments and develop construction documents, details and specifications
  • Writing summary and technical reports under the direction of senior staff
  • Evaluate contractor performance to ensure project deliverables and quality standards are achieved
  • Contribute to maintaining and improving quality control
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Communicates with senior staff and management to discuss and develop solutions to recognized concerns
  • Adhere to company and client safety practices and policies at all times
