About The Position

HDR is seeking a Business Group Manager (BGM) to lead and grow our Building Engineering Services (BES) Business Group in the Idaho Area. This position works in partnership with the Idaho Area Operations Manager and the BES Regional Business Group Director, along with all of HDR’s Business Groups and Market Sectors, and coordinates business practices and project delivery services in the Company that require building engineering design. In the role of Area Business Group Manager for the Building Engineering Services Business Group in Idaho, we'll count on you to help shape the future of multidisciplinary design both locally and across the region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with leading diverse teams.
  • Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values.
  • Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with regional and local office managers, other area business group directors, technical directors and marketing managers.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a high-performing design team across multiple disciplines – Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Control Systems, Fire Protection, and BIM.
  • Foster a strong team culture focused on quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Support company policies, mentor technical staff, and contribute to planning, proposals, and client engagement.
  • Support projects in multiple diverse markets and take responsibility for program development strategies, new business prospects, technical services, quality, and production methods and standards.
  • Develop, implement and maintain an effective area business group program for the Building Engineering Services team.
  • Collaborate in preparation of annual revenue forecasts and budgets.
  • Monitor performance of the business group and help identify and win projects that match the expertise and developmental goals of the staff.
  • Serve as a Project Manager, Program Manager, and/or Principal-In-Charge as applicable.
  • Work closely with regional and national leaders across business groups to align strategy, support marketing efforts, and drive growth.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
