You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area. Essential Job Functions Identifies, diagnoses, repairs, and maintains building utility systems related to low voltage electric wiring controls for heating and ventilating systems, pneumatic temperature controls, pumps, air filters, and central refrigeration units May replace switches and motors to 110 volts Maintains relative pressures and air quantities in HVAC systems Repairs and maintains existing plumbing systems Repairs and maintains appliances including refrigeration and package A/C equipment Works from building blueprints to determine location and layout of circuits, ducts and piping. Performs on the scene repairs or replaces components. Performs repair work in central shop Uses hand tools and power equipment such as drill press, saw, threader, and grinding wheels Requisitions materials and supplies as needed Keeps work area neat, clean and safe Completes required departmental paperwork in a timely and legible fashion Communicates with patients, visitors, and other Hospital employees with tact and courtesy Follows through on all assigned duties until completion Maintains personal appearance in accordance with departmental policy on dress and uniform Performs other duties assigned
